(Click on this image to see a larger version.) Zork: Grand Inquisitor photographic film positive showing the lantern that was used in the cover artwork. I acquired this years ago, from an Activision employee who rescued a batch of them from being discarded. I'm listing this one to test the waters. If there is interest, I have similar materials for other Activision-era Infocom releases, such as Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis and Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2. This item's condition [NM] by Mobyscale standards. I will package this securely between two pieces of sturdy cardboard for protection. In this case I am willing to bend the normal rules a bit, and will send this via First Class Mail in an envelope rather than Priority. This will lower the postage price to about $2.50, so you can ignore the automated Priority quote below. However you will need to agree to take the loss yourself if anything should happen to it. Insurance would be an additional $2.20, bringing the total to approximately $4.70. Still cheaper than Priority. International buyers, the lowest quote I can get from the USPS is $13.50 for First Class for Europe (Canada will be less), so your best bet would be to combine this with another BetterThanTheBay win or Shoppe purchase, as the weight added to an existing parcel will be negligible. Any other questions about this item, please ask. Any questions about BetterThanTheBay in general, check here first, and if that doesn't answer it for you, please ask. Thanks for visiting! |
Questions and Answers:
Q: | I would like some information about the item's rarity because I think that is a factor in pricing. You say "I acquired this years ago, from an Activision employee who rescued a batch of them from being discarded." Do you know how many were saved? How many of them did you get/do you have? |
A: | For Zork Grand Inquisitor, there are about a dozen or so numbered packets, each containing 3 or 4 film positives like this. Some of them have the lantern or its handle at a slightly different angle. Some show a hand holding the lantern. At the time, I bought everything the Activision employee saved from the trash. The demand for this particular item (both the final price and the number of bids) will dictate how many more of these I offer for sale. |
