Dunzhin (Warriors of Ras vol. I)
by Med Systems / Screenplay
(Screenplay notched box with glued-on back cover)

Screenplay's "Warriors of RAS" series sends players through a series of overhead-view dungeon layouts traversed with mostly one-word commands. Gameplay is largely RPG-based, incorporating monster-slaying and experience points. Dunzhin is #1 in the series. (#2 is Kaiv, #3 is The Wylde, #4 is Ziggurat.) All were programmed by Randall Don Masteller.

The Apple and Atari versions were released later: The docs only contain loading instructions for TRS-80, but there's a loose addendum for the other systems. The docs for all four are virtually identical, as is the gameplay. Masteller wrote his own programming language specifically for this series.

For Kaiv, I'm aware of three different box variations, all two-piece. Two have small semicircular notches on either side of the top box piece, in the center. (My copy of The Insitute is also like this.) The bottom box piece has the game description on the back, either as a glued-on piece of white paper, or printed directly on the box. I have two versions of the glued-on backs: One has two columns, with the game specs on the left and a description on the right. The other has a description of the "Warriors of RAS" series, description and specs, and a screenshot. Both glued-on back covers came with the notched top box piece. For Wylde and Ziggurat, I only have the printed boxes. They may have been released later, once Screenplay got their packaging straightened out.
